2024 was another great year at Blue Cares! We began the year ramping up our scholarship program and collecting applications. We were thrilled to be able to provide over $40,000 in scholarships to very deserving high school seniors. Wrapping up our scholarships with a night to remember dinner that honored those young men and women excited to continue their education!
The 2024 Clay Shoot was pushed back to late June at the National Shooting Complex. It was a great success, lots of raffle prizes and a good time had by all participants! Unfortunately, summer came and went too quickly, and it was back to school again! We were able to work with council members, community organizations, school districts and many more to provide students with backpacks and much needed supplies.
The 33rd Annual Golf Tournament was held on November 15th at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort and Golf Course. It was great weather and great company as we kicked off our Blue Santa season! With 200 golfers in attendance and many volunteers we were able to raise awareness around many of our programs and raise money for our Blue Santa program.
Blue Santa kicked into full gear after the tournament, and we worked with hundreds of volunteers to wrap thousands of gifts for families in need around the holidays.Thanks to the generosity of the San Antonio community and hundreds of volunteers, our Blue Santa Program made sure that so many deserving children in the community had a wonderful Christmas! December 2024, more than 2,100 kids opened gifts from Blue Santa this year!
