On May 13, Blue Cares, awarded $75,000 in college scholarships to 14 local San Antonio
Students. The awards dinner was held at Chama Gaucha Brazilian Steakhouse (18318 Sonterra Pl, 78258).
The Patricia Calderon Scholarship program honors the memory of Officer Patricia Calderon, the first female SAPD officer to lose her life in the line of duty on December 27, 1988. The scholarship serves as a tribute to all SAPD officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their legacy lives on through the support of deserving students pursuing higher education.
