On May 21, Blue Cares, awarded $15,000 in college scholarships to 10 local Precinct 1 San Antonio students. The awards dinner was held at Resurrection of the Lord Event Hall (7990 Military Dr W, 78227).
In collaboration with Precinct 1 Bexar County Commissioner Rebecca Clay-Flores, this scholarship supports athlete-scholars graduating from high schools in Precinct 1. Commissioner Clay-Flores selected Blue Cares as a recipient of office funds available to nonprofits for community support. Precinct 1 donated $20,000, $5,000 of which is going to Edgewood Veterans & $15,000 to student scholarships. 10 athlete-scholars were selected to receive $1500 each to assist their college-bound plans.
