Patricia Calderon Scholarship

Scholarship Criteria

The Patricia Calderon Scholarship will be available online beginning Thursday, January 15, 2026. The deadline to submit applications is Sunday, March 1, 2026 (11:59PM). No exceptions will be made for incomplete applications.
Any graduating high school seniors wishing to apply must meet the following criteria:

• Have maintained a minimum GPA of 85/3.3 throughout their high school career.
• An official electronic high school transcript must be uploaded. Upload transcripts here.
• Provide a copy of your acceptance letter from any accredited college or university. (Just one please)
• Provide a personal statement explaining why you feel you should be selected as a recipient, your future goals, and your life experiences that have influenced you to choose your career path. The essay should be typed, no longer than two pages in length, Times New Roman Font, 12 point, double spaced with one-inch margins.
• As an eligibility requirement all students must be a high school senior at the time of the application and reside within Bexar County or be a dependent of an SAPD officer.

* If selected as a finalist, applicants will be called for an in-person panel interview with our scholarship committee. We aim to schedule in-person interviews in late March/ early April.

* If awarded the SAPOA Patricia Calderon Scholarship, you will be called upon for speaking engagements and/or be asked to volunteer at fundraising events on behalf of SAPOA.
