The Blue Cares team is comprised of volunteers from our community and from the men and women of the San Antonio Police Officers Association. We are also lucky to have three full-time professionals on board who manage our programs year-round to ensure we can help as many children and families in need as possible.

In addition to his public service, Diaz takes time to mentor and coach San Antonio youth. After some time at North SAFFE, Chris moved to night bikes where he stayed until transferring to his current assignment on East Daylight. Jessica was born in New Orleans and moved to San Antonio in 1989 where she began working for with her mother, Estela. Jessica may look familiar to some, and her mother’s name should sound familiar. That’s because Jessica’s mom was the owner of the infamous Estela’s Café at Five Points on Fredericksburg Rd, a local regular spot for many officers. In 2021 Jessica began working for SAPOA where she started as the store manager, front desk receptionist. She provided much more support in planning and helping with events throughout the year such as our Memorial Festival and Car Show, Clay Shoot, the SAPOA family picnic and the Blue Cares Golf Tournament. She has also put events together that includes the grand re-opening of Mission Park Pavilions, formerly known as Mission County Park, and a concert that featured Los Lonely Boys, Ruben V and Clay Campana. As the daughter of a retired SAPD Officer, Jessica has a special place in her heart for the members of SAPOA. Jessica, her husband and their daughter have become a much-appreciated part of the SAPOA family. They volunteer at many of the events and are always available to lend a helping hand.
