3 Reasons the Blue Cares Scholarship Matters

Blue Cares exists to support underprivileged children in the San Antonio area, and the Patricia Calderon Scholarship is just one of the ways we do that. In addition to awarding college scholarships to deserving applicants who want to further their education, the Patricia Calderon Scholarship also honors San Antonio Police Officers who have fallen in the line of duty by keeping their memory alive.

 

Why the Blue Cares Scholarship is Special.

 

The Blue Cares Scholarship is unique in a number of ways. Throughout the years, the Blue Cares Scholarship has awarded hundreds of thousands of dollars to deserving students heading into their college career.

1. The Blue Cares Scholarship is open to any graduating High School Senior. We leave eligibility requirements as minimal as possible so that every Senior can have a shot at being awarded a scholarship.
2. Blue Cares also gives back to our community in ways other organizations don’t. Children who may not qualify for the Blue Cares Scholarship are still eligible to benefit from one of our other programs, Project CJ and Blue Santa. There is no shortage in assistance when it comes to Blue Cares.
3. The Blue Care Scholarship is one of several scholarships in San Antonio awarded by police officers. Police officers and members of the San Antonio Police Officers’ Association volunteer, donate, and assist with organization, fundraising, and presentation of the Blue Cares Scholarship.
