This December, Blue Cares and Blue Santa are asking for your generous donations in the form of toys or a monetary contribution. San Antonio has many low-income families who have a difficult time providing a happy Christmas experience for their children. You can help spread some joy to an underprivileged child and their family this Christmas with your new, unwrapped toy or monetary donation.
In 1976, the Blue Santa Program was created to help bring holiday happiness to families and children throughout San Antonio. Blue Santa is all about bringing hope and joy to families that struggle to make ends meet during the toughest time of the year for low-income families, the holidays.
During the month of December, San Antonio police officers, volunteers, and Blue Santa, work very hard to deliver much-appreciated gifts to underprivileged children and their families. All money raised from SAPOA’s biggest events, the Sporting Clay Shoot and Blue Santa Golf Tournament, goes to Blue Cares to fund our Blue Santa project. Police officers are in a unique position to see the struggles families endure throughout the year, so we began partnering with local businesses and organizations and volunteers to collect food, clothes, toys, and monetary donations to assist thousands of families in our city. A simple gift can change a life, and Blue Santa is our way of saying, “we care.”
Police officers are here to serve. Sometimes that means giving a little happiness to children whose families may be in tough financial circumstances. You can click HERE for a list of toy drop-off locations. We have locations all around San Antonio. All we ask is that the toy is new and unwrapped. Click HERE to find out how to donate. All we ask is that you do what you can, because we know even the smallest gesture can make a big difference.
By donating to Blue Cares, you are helping ensuring that a child has a happy holiday season, and after giving to Blue Santa, we’re sure you’ll have one too.
